26 September 2025

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, organized the Academic Seminar and Knowledge Transfer on Rail Systems, Transport, and Logistics for 2025. The event took place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the MRTA Learning Center on Rama 9 Road.

The seminar was held to disseminate research findings, innovations, and serve as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences among researchers, academics, experts, and practitioners in the rail industry.

Digital Tech and AI for Sustainable Rail

The highlight of the event was the special lecture by Mr. Natthachai Siriko, Chief Executive Officer of AMR Asia Public Company Limited (AMR Asia), under the topic “Digital Tech and AI for Sustainable Rail.”

Mr. Natthachai presented advanced concepts for elevating the Thai rail system, focusing on the application of key technologies: Smart Infrastructure, Predictive Maintenance, and the development of an AI Platform developed by Thai talent. The goal is to enhance operational efficiency, reduce running costs, and support environmental conservation sustainably.

Real-World Experience and the Potential of Thai Engineers

AMR Asia’s CEO shared practical experiences from crucial national rail projects, such as the Green Line Skytrain (32 stations), the Dual-Track Railway and Signaling systems (over 100 stations), the Gold Line's Bulk Substation, and notably, the installation of the Green Line's Taksin - Wongsian Yai section, which marked the first time the system was implemented entirely by a team of Thai engineers.

Mr. Natthachai emphasized that: “AMR Asia is the first Thai company to utilize an entirely Thai engineering team in developing rail and control systems, reflecting the capability of Thai personnel to create innovations and technologies that meet international standards.”

On this occasion, AMR Asia extends its sincere gratitude to the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, for their trust and for providing a key role in disseminating knowledge and experience in rail technology, thus collaboratively driving the development of Thailand’s rail and logistics industries towards a stable and sustainable future.
