![]() System Description ; TERBIUM System delivers the utilities the powers
from essential information of each customer with the information system
thru demand forecast with the information analysis system and finally
thru energy management with policy management system.
TERBIUM system is composed of three main subsystems – Terbium-RU (Remote Unit), Terbium-CU (Concentrator Unit) and Terbium-MC (Master Control Center). Terbium-RU that’s retrofitted with the conventional meter reads the meter’s information and transmits the data over power lines to Terbium-CU (Concentrator Unit) located on the low-voltage side of the distribution transformer. Terbium-CU stores the meter’s data, (such as meter id, KWh, demand energy, time of reading, etc), and performs some data processing. The results are transmitted from the Terbium-CU to Terbium-MC (Master Control Center) for the upper level of management. This transmitted data can be performed using a number of methods – infrared connection to Terbium-RU or direct connection to Terbium-CU using Terbium-HT (Handheld Terminal) or a remote connection such as a modem link via wired line (PSTN/Leased Line) or wireless network (GSM/GPRS). Terbium-RU stores the meter’s information versus time and date and monitors any unusual operating conditions. This data is transmitted regularly to Terbium-CU via the power lines at any requests of Terbium-CU. Terbium-RU provides Utility data availability effectively with built-in original digital signal repeating method enables system installation over unreachable distance of other systems. Utility can set network routing manually from site information knowledge or automatically from intelligent location searching system of Terbium-CU Each Terbium-CU, located within the low-voltage side of the distribution transformer’s servicing area, does routine site scans as defined in levels of priority. Terbium-CU is capable of gathering and managing information from 50 up to 300 different Terbium-RUs or meters. AMR Asia’s proprietary PLC technology provides the ability for Terbium-CU to communicate securely to the Terbium-RU via the power line and the ability for Terbium-CU to communicate securely to Terbium-MC via wire line (PSTN/Leased Line) or wireless network (GSM/GPRS). Base on the truth of open environment, all information transmitted in the system are all encrypted, checked and corrected if errors occur. All of Terbium-CUs are handled by Terbium-MC at Utility’s control center. Terbium-MC is a computer base control system runs in Microsoft Window
Operation system and can be located at any Utility’s offices. Terbium-MC
provides Utility a simple graphical interface and user friendly for
Utility’s daily operation, planning, analysis and business purposes
such as billing, customer services, statistical analysis and system
management. Terbium-MC is designed modularly and expandable base on
the size of the system. Terbium-MC defines 2 sub modules, AMR system
management module and AMR database management module. Both of sub
modules can be reached by authorized person with authentication system.

Terbium RU
Terbium RU is a remote unit retrofitted inside the conventional meter or interconnects with demand pulse generator of the electronic meter. With a tiny size and light weight, Terbium-RU is able to tight with a meter’s plate fasten the installation process and no require any experts. Terbium RU can be easily installed in any conventional meter both Single Phase and Three Phase. Terbium RU is designed to gathering and transmission of the consume energy data on kWh of each meter in opposition to time and date effectively and accurately. Terbium RU can read and store data on energy consumption by counting the rotation of disc with 2 sets of optical sensors, then collect cumulative data versus time and date in buffers. At a specific time, the stored data in the buffer is written to each memory modules called Present Data (in each hour or before power-off), Daily Data (at midnight), Profile Data (at predefined interval time of 15-min, 30-min or 60-min) or Billing Data (at midnight of billing date) depends on the model of Terbium-RU. Terbium-CU will request all of that data for the next procedures. Terbium-RU that includes prepayment will deduce the credit registered in a memory along with the energy used by customers. In case of the registered credit less than some certain amount, Terbium-RU will identify by flashing its LED in a rhythm and will be cut the power feeding to customer’s load off when the registered credit is equal zero.
